1. So Long Joe, You Will Be Missed
==================================
Last month, we lost Joe Pagano, a vibrant member of our
community. Joe was the digital media project coordinator
in the Office of Strategic Initiatives at the Library of
Congress where he led the Library’s Web site analytics
program. He worked in web metrics for the last eight years,
was co-chair of the Web Manager’s Advisory Council Web
Metrics Task Group and was very active in the Web Analytics
Association. Rest well, Joe.

2. Five Minutes of Fun – You’re a Hero
======================================
Joe would want us to lighten up – and therefore…
Wait until Coke and Nike get a hold of this

Have a pretty picture of yourself at the ready.

===================================
3. Free Books from Eric T. Peterson
===================================
Christmas came early to the web analytics industry when
the phenomenal and prodigious Eric T. Peterson liberated
his books for all to enjoy. That’s right,
Web Analytics Demystified
and
The Big Book of Key Performance Indicators
are now as free as the air and available as PDF
downloads. If you haven’t at least browsed these books,
you owe it to yourself. If you read them way back when,
it’s time to reacquaint yourself.

Me? My copies of these books – including the one I had
printed for eMetrics attendees – have pride of place on
a shelf next to other prized possessions like the pre-
release copy of the Clue Train Manifesto and one of the
original the Purple Cow milk boxes.

4. Sentiment Analysis Symposium
===============================
How do you extract opinions and attitudes in social media,
news, and enterprise feedback? How do you use that
information to impact your business? How do you identify
key opinion leaders? Where do you see the latest in
sentiment-analysis tools, platforms, and solutions for
news and social media analysis, enterprise feedback,
and Voice of the Customer applications?

What happens when web analysts gather to kook dinner
at the Kookfrabriek? Many well-fed thanks to Frans Appels
at Netprofiler for conjuring up this magical feat of
culinary prestidigitation!
